Michael was affectionately known as “Man”, “Mike”, and “Pop-Pop”. He was educated in the Baltimore City Public School Systems. Michael attended
Fort Worthington Elementary School, Hempstead Hill Junior High, and Paul Laurence Dunbar Senior High School where he matriculated in 1978.

He also attended Morgan State University where he majored in Criminal Justice.

Michael’s first job was with Neighborhood Youth Corp “NYC” as a maintenance apprentice.
